The new HTM 06-01 offers a new approach to electrical supplies in healthcare. The structure is now based on the grid incomer through to final circuits in the final chapter.

More so, the document clearly differentiates between business risks and patient risks and recommends an electrical safety group which should include clinical staff.

It is a very comprehensive document and radiology departments need to be aware of the issues specific to medical radiological equipment.

Recent experience has unturned that I have been able to help companies modify their pre-installation requirements so that the customer appreciates their responsibilities in the planning stage for the new wiring requirements.

  1. Extremely good value for money. Given in a very relaxed manner which encouraged interaction, Ian went to some effort to establish the level at which to pitch it. So, everyone got something out of it, including the governance aspects of it as well as the technical details. Happy to recommend it to other Medical Physics departments.

  2. I attended the morning general session of the all-day HTM06-01 course. It introduced new concepts to me in a way that was entirely understandable and made me realise how we could improve our practice at Nottingham University Hospitals – well worth attending!
